Medical advisory board
A directory that decides which clinicians patients see should not grade its own homework. Our advisory board is a small group of practicing clinicians who review how we vet, read what we publish, and tell us when we get it wrong. It is an unpaid position, so no member has a financial stake in what they conclude.

Board-certified cardiologist and internist, and a professor of medicine at two medical schools. He has spent decades teaching guideline-based care and correcting medical misinformation online. He runs Alo Academy and publishes his medical presentations on YouTube, covering guideline-based care and treatment in cardiology, heart failure, diabetes, dyslipidemia, and obesity medicine. He reviews our vetting rules and signs off on the guideline summaries and health articles we publish.

What the board does
The board reviews our method and our medical writing. It does not decide who gets listed day to day, and it has no say over pricing, advertising, or which clinicians are featured. That separation is the point.
Check how we vet
Review the eligibility rules, the attestation questions, and the screening steps at least once a year, and say plainly when something is too loose or too strict.
Read the medical content
Sign off on guideline summaries and health articles before they go live, and flag anything that drifts from what the societies actually recommend.
Settle the hard calls
Weigh in when a listing decision is genuinely arguable, such as a clinician whose public posts sit near the line. A person always makes the final call, never a score.
Keep us current
Tell us when a guideline is replaced, so the hubs and the attestation questions are updated rather than quietly going stale.
How to join
You apply
Send your credentials, where you practice, and a short note on what you would bring. It takes about ten minutes.
We verify
We confirm your license against the national registry, check your board certifications, and read your public record, the same checks every listed clinician gets.
A conversation
A 30 minute call with our medical reviewer about the areas you would cover and how much time you can give.
A decision
We reply either way, usually within three weeks. If we say no, we say why, and you are welcome to apply again later.
The honest terms
- Unpaid. Nobody on the board is compensated, in money or in kind, so no member has a financial reason to favor any clinician, company, or treatment.
- Roughly two to four hours a quarter.
- A license in good standing, never revoked, suspended, or surrendered.
- No selling of supplements, peptides, or compounded medicines.
- Willing to be named publicly on this page.
This is not a paid position, and that is deliberate. Paying the people who check our work would give them a stake in our answers, which is the conflict of interest the board exists to prevent. Serving also does not buy a listing, a featured spot, or better placement. A member who is listed here pays the same as everyone else and is vetted the same way. Members can step down at any time, and we will take their name off this page the same day.
